The five-way intersection (aka “Quintersection”) of Hillcrest Road, The Uplands & Roanoke Road is challenging and unsafe—particularly for cyclists and pedestrians.

Together, we can beautify and strengthen our neighborhood while improving the safety of the Quintersection.
Simple pavement art has been shown to meaningfully calm traffic and reduce accidents. Effective examples can be found around the world and across the Bay Area.
In 2024, a group of neighbors hope to create an intersection mural and take other actions to improve street safety and build community.

We received amazing submissions from neighbors of all ages. We assessed these ideas to ensure they met our design criteria and made any needed modifications to ensure we can successfully paint them on the intersection.
Voting was open from May 24 to June 25 and we received over 100 votes from neighbors.
